Mary Radspinner and husband John Gill own and operate parent company Melody’s Traditional Music and subsidiary Afghan Press Music for Harp, a harp music publishing company located in the same building.
Melody (1987 - 1998) is who the store is named after. Many times people call and say, “is this Melody?” And we just say, “yes”. It’s easier than explaining. Melody was an Afghan Hound. The publishing company is named after the breed. Mary and John have been very active in Afghan Hound rescue. They are also active in Golden Retriever rescue. Andy, who passed in 2009 was their second Golden rescue. Andy was well loved by all the customers.
Hank, rescued from the Houston SPCA (didn’t think he would make it the first 3 days), loved harp music. Here he was with a customer who was trying out harps and singing. Bless Hank’s heart, the woman’s voice was not good, but he was the type to make you feel good no matter what.
